Coconut is a species of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). This plant has been cultivated in tropical areas over 4,500 years but recently increased in popularity. There are currently 93 coconut plantation areas in the world and Vietnam ranks 7th among them. With available natural advantages and experience of growing, Vietnam coconut hold the first position in term of productivity and quality in the world according to the International Coconut Community.
Coconut is a large fruit with a hard, brown shell and firm, white flesh also has sweet water inside. This fruit is known as “the tree of 1,001 uses”, “the tree to create jobs”. From stems, leaves, veins, branches, flowers, fruits, fibers, ladles, rice, water, roots … all create products for human life.
Coconut is distinct from other fruits because it is rich in fat, not in carbs. However, It also contains protein, several vital minerals, and a small content of B vitamins that play an indispensable role in the human immune system. According to some recent studies, coconut water consists of lauric acid which can slow down the aging of skin cells, humidify the skin. Additionally, drinking coconut water regularly can also be quite effective in regulating blood pressure thanks to high levels of potassium and lauric acid. Besides, medium-chain triglycerides in coconut flesh which may help you limit appetite and thereby prevent overeating, burn calories and fat, and support you in losing weight.
